Brand Management Director

We are currently seeking applicants for the role of Director, Brand Management who will report to our Chief Marketing Officer.

This person will develop and implement comprehensive brand strategies to establish brand identity, increase market presence, and drive sustainable, long-term growth while delivering top-line, grow margin and bottom-line annual goals.

The ideal candidate has previous experience in brand management and marketing, ideally working for a growing CPG brand. This person must have a passion to work in a highly dynamic, fast growing, and entrepreneurial environment.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Brand Strategy : Lead the evolution of Duke Cannon’s brand strategy and image while ensuring brand guidelines are applied consistently across all channels and materials that align with the company’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Consumer Insights : Translate consumer behavior data, market trends, and competitor activity to build strategic brand roadmap and identify opportunities for brand growth.
  • Brand Innovation : Partner with Product Development and Innovation to apply insights to the creation of new products, portfolio expansion or changes to existing products in the Duke Cannon portfolio.
  • Portfolio Management : Lead strategies to drive long-term growth and continuous P&L improvement. Understand drivers of the P&L and proactively identify levers to improve topline, gross margin and bottom line by partnering with Product Development and Supply Chain to reduce complexities.

Develop effective omnichannel promotional strategies including off-shelf events, digital promotions, key merchandising requirements, consumer price incentives, and impactful packaging graphics / messaging.

Analytics and Reporting : Establish KPIs and utilize data analytics and consumer insights to track and measure the effectiveness of our brand tactics for maximum impact.

Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative Team to analyze creative performance and optimize strategies based on insights and feedback from consumer base.

Cross-Functional Collaboration : This role is an individual contributor position that will work within the marketing team and must work in close collaboration with sales, product / innovation, supply chain, human resources and other internal teams, as well as mentor others within the Marketing team.

Will be involved in key customer meetings and new product pitches.

Experience and Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or relevant experience, MBA preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in brand management at a consumer goods company.
  • Experience in brand management, innovation, commercialization and general management.
  • Extensive project management experience and proven ability to multitask.
  • Experience leading a cross-functional team and developing vision and strategy.
  • Compelling communications with the ability to clearly and succinctly convey information and ideas.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across multiple departments.
