Overview St. Francis Medical Center is a level 1 trauma center and certified Stroke Center. Our PT team helps manage the patient needs throughout our 650+ bed adult hospital and cover all floors including general medical, intermediate, and intensive care units.
Our team functions in units or groups working with fellow therapists from all disciplines to manage the needs across 1-3 units and focus our care on providing recommendations and assisting with discharge planning.
We have 70 people in our department including PT, OT, SLP, and rehab techs and all work closely together to meet the needs of our patients.
Expected pay for this position is $26.46 - $31.13 / hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity.
POSITION SUMMARY : The Physical Therapist Assistant, under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist, assists in administering the Physical Therapists' treatment plan.
Administers and monitors patient's response to therapeutic exercises, transfer training, gait training, and other treatments in accordance with the physical therapists treatment plan.
Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education : Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Licensure / Certifications : State license as Physical Therapist Assistant CPR certification within 90 days of hire Skills / knowledge : Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills to work well with others and to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other treatment team members when gathering and exchanging patient condition information.
Analytical ability to identify and report changes in patient's condition to a physical therapist. Excellent computer skills and the ability to process detailed information in an accurate manner.
