We are looking for a Laboratory Assistant to join our team of devoted caregivers. Caregivers in this position will process samples, perform laboratory testing, and direct workflow within the laboratory.
As a Laboratory Assistant, your primary duties will include : Operating laboratory equipment.Maintaining and documenting stock of supplies and inventory.
Performing quality assurance activities.The ideal caregiver is someone who : Has strong communication skills.Can multitask in a stressful situation.

Caregivers in this position will be offered continued education and provided access to our histology staff and pathologists for onsite education.
Caregivers looking to climb the career ladder will have the opportunity to seek a degree in Histology or Medical Technology, either at an Associate or Bachelor program level.

Responsibilities : Assists with receiving, identifying, accessioning, processing, transporting and storing specimens.Operates laboratory equipment and performs routine instrument maintenance, troubleshooting and minor repairs.
Performs quality assurance activities.Maintains adequate stock of supplies and manages the inventory by transporting and distributing supplies.
Other duties as assigned.Education : High School Diploma or GED.Certifications : None plexity of Work : Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Work Experience : Requires three months on-the-job training to learn department laboratory procedures, instrumentation and CCF policies.
Physical Requirements : Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity when handling specimens and utilizing instrumentation.
Ability to safely handle potentially infectious patient specimens, carcinogenic substances, odorous and other hazardous materials to which they may be exposed.
Requires frequent sitting or standing.Personal Protective Equipment : Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
