The Position :
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Accounting Supervisor to join our team in Irvine. This role will oversee and lead a team of Business Unit (BU) accountants, focusing primarily on billing, revenue recognition, and project reconciliation activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Lead and supervise a team of 3 Business Unit accountants, providing guidance and support.
- Manage the billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of invoices.
- Oversee revenue recognition procedures in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Perform project reconciliations to ensure financial data integrity and project profitability analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Project Management, Sales, and Operations to resolve accounting issues and enhance processes.
- Prepare financial reports related to project accounting and provide insights to senior management.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and assist with audits as necessary.
Minimum Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field required; CPA preferred.
- Proven experience (8+ years) in project accounting, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong understanding of billing processes, revenue recognition principles (ASC 606), and project costing.
- Experience with SAP preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complicated financial data.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across teams.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
