Overview
The Medical Surgical unit consists of 32 beds and primarily serves post surgical and general medical patients. This Unit is a fast-paced environment that sees a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity.
All of our inpatient units are exceptionally collaborative among their staff and share a common philosophy around the value of teamwork, professionalism, and excellent patient care.
Job Responsibilities :
Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department, or unit patient safety initiatives.
Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety
- Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority
- Implements policies, procedure, and standards consistently in the performance of assigned duties
- Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates the same to those in charge
- Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork among coworkers by maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships
- Fosters a healing environment for patients and families
- Assumes responsibility and authority for establishing a therapeutic relationship with the patient / family and creating an individualized plan of care and evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Integrates clinical reasoning and knowledge as the foundation for decision-making
- Balances patient's rights and organization's responsibilities in providing professional and ethical care.
Schedule : One 12 hour shift per week, 7 : 00 am - 7 : 30 pm, one 3 : 00 pm - 7 : 00 pm per week, No weekends, Every third holiday
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
Nursing Diploma, required
Bachelors Degree in Nursing, preferred

Registered Nurse in PA licensed, upon hire, required
Basic Life Support (BLS), upon hire, required
