Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance and development of a large staff of tutors by recruiting, hiring, supervising, and terminating student-workers.
- Support the process of reviewing and approving weekly payroll for student-workers. Continually strive to streamline this process in coordination with colleagues and support student-workers in complying with their payroll responsibilities.
- Administer an appointment scheduling system that allows students to directly schedule interactions with appropriate peer educators, ensuring tutor availability and addressing any access or user issues with the software.
- Develop tutor training curricula focused on topics essential to the tutor role, such as compliance with payroll processes, schedule management, communication, goal setting, active listening, and referrals to campus resources.
Facilitate trainings as needed.
- Support students who need individualized tutoring support through consultation and matching with a designated tutor if possible.
- Communicate with students and campus partners through a variety of mediums about the processes by which students can access peer education services.
- Supervise a graduate assistant who supports students in navigating tutoring services and facilitates tutor trainings.
- Coordinate requests for learning strategies workshops led by peer educators and manage attendance and evaluation data related to those programs.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required with 1-2 years experience with hiring and payroll administration or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
