Director Surgical Services PositionSummary
Department administrator.Establishes and enforces policies procedures standards andobjectives. Directs and supervises staff as well as workflow.
Position has budgetary or fiscal accountability. Responsible 24hours a day for the ongoing effective operation of the assignedNursing department by exerting a leadership role which supports thehospitals mission vision goals and objectives while focusing on thepatients physicians employees volunteers and the community ascustomers.
Ongoing accountability for the continuous assessmentimprovement coordination and integration of the department servicesand standards of care into the hospitals primary function.
Positionis responsible for approving timekeeping employee evaluationmeeting applicable regulatory standards approving supply orders anddepartment strategic planning.
SPECIAL SKILLS : Must be able to utilize independent decisionmaking skills in a widevariety of situations. Requires a high degree of accuracy in theperformance of varied responsibilities.
Personal computer skillsrequired. Frequent contact with employees physicians customerscommunity individuals and volunteers.
Must be selfmotivated tocomplete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines. Computer skillsrequired.
SUPERVISES : Nursing staff.
THE DIRECTOR SURGICAL SERVICES FT DAYS CANDIDATE WILLPOSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION LICENSE / CERTIFICATIONS ANDEXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION : Bachelors Degreein Nursing Business Administration Management or related field orequivalent minimum experience requirements.
PREFERRED EDUCATION : MSN.
MINIMUMEXPERIENCE : Five years experience in nursing management in ahospital setting with three years supervisory experiencerequired.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSURE : Current Arizona Registered Nurse License.
REQUIRED COURSE(S) TRAINING : For Wound Care : Training inwound care and hyperbaric therapy from a nationally recognizedprovider.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS / REGISTRATION : For Wound Care WOCN
