THE POSITION : Appointed by the Department Chair and reporting to the Executive Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs, the Division Director of Gynecologic Oncology is the physician head of the academic, clinical, and educational programs for the Gynecologic Oncology Faculty of the Department.
As chief of the Gynecologic Oncology service, the Division Director will build the strengths of the division and its current programs to develop and strengthen its clinical and academic operations, including research initiatives.
Working closely with the Chair and the department leadership team, they will develop a multi-year plan that aligns with the Departmental, College of Medicine, and the Medical Center’s strategic vision, goals, and directives.
Our current division is active in all aspects of academic medicine. We serve a diverse community in the Bronx, New York , and provide comprehensive clinical care for women with gynecologic malignancy, including outreach to serving the underserved.
We are an NRG oncology member and are active in the establishment of clinical trials as well as translational research. We have an ACGME-accredited Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship, one of the largest Obstetrics and Gynecology residency programs in the country, and a strong commitment to medical students at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
The Division offers services at multiple clinical sites and hospital locations throughout the area. The Division Director will oversee the assignments and day-to-day workflows of the Gynecologic Oncology Division’s clinical service lines.
THE CANDIDATE : He / She is expected to exhibit leadership traits that incorporate accountability and critical thinking, and the ability to anticipate and solve complex problems using focused communication skills.
The Division Director is expected to understand how and when to escalate issues based on the content and severity. We are seeking a candidate with outstanding abilities in providing clinical care to our patients for both surgical cases and chemotherapy management.
Significant value is placed on providing educational training to our fellows, residents, and medical students as well as supporting our clinical and translational research endeavors.
Discrete Activities and Responsibilities of the Division Director :
Education
- Understand and educate Division members regarding the policies of the Medical College / Center, and the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education regulatory requirements.
- Ensure Division faculty meet educational program objectives as well as provide educational and instructional opportunities for all levels of trainees.
Clinical
- Ensure customer service, patient care and patient quality and safety initiatives are met.
- Ensure coverage for all Division clinical activities at all clinical sites, including call and emergency coverage.
- Ensure Division faculty distribution of clinical workload is in accordance with their designated clinical effort expectations.
Administrative
- Ensure division faculty comply with all Department / Institutional regulatory and policy requirements
- Ensure quality, timely, consistent communication on key issues through regular communication channels.
- Promote faculty development through timely, consistent, frequent customized plans and reviews, and appropriately manage performance issues.
- Promote professionalism within the Division.
THE CANDIDATE : The successful candidate will have hands-on administrative experience, having held leadership position(s) in a similar academic medical center setting.
The candidate will bring a successful record of accomplishments in clinical practice and academics for these initiatives.
The Director will be comfortable leading and managing the daily challenges of a large, distributed clinical Division.

COMPENSATION : In addition to a competitive salary of $400,000-500,000, we offer LTD, STD, paid malpractice, paid CME, health, dental, vision and a 403(b) and 457 are also offered.
