Job Title : Commercial Truck Body Mount Technician
Job Description
We offer a diverse range of truck bodies to cater to various industries and applications. Our Mount department is responsible for mounting our diverse range of truck bodies onto chassis.
Mounting Technicians are trained to install standard service bodies, flatbeds, contractor bodies, dump bodies, and work masters.
Overall, a Mount technician plays a crucial role in the installation and repair of service bodies, ensuring they are properly mounted and function correctly on vehicles.
Responsibilities
Mounting Service Bodies : Install service bodies onto vehicles, ensuring they are securely attached and aligned properly.
Follow specific instructions and use appropriate tools and equipment for the installation process.
- Repairing Service Bodies : Diagnose and perform repairs on service bodies, including fixing structural components, electrical systems, hydraulic mechanisms, or other parts.
- Mechanical Aptitude : Perform welding (MIG & Stick) and fabrication tasks to modify or customize service bodies according to customer requirements.
- Inspecting and Testing : Thoroughly inspect the service body to ensure it meets quality standards and safety regulations.
Perform functional tests to check the proper functioning of all components.
Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate documentation of work, including service reports, parts used, and any additional recommendations.
Communicate with customers and provide technical advice or recommendations.
Safety Compliance : Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working.
Essential Skills
- Basic MIG and Stick Welding
- Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of mounting techniques
- Proficient in basic math calculations
- Familiarity with hand tools, pneumatic tools, power tools, hoists, chop saw, drill press, and welding equipment
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a shop environment
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior truck experience highly preferred
- Proven experience as a service body mounter or similar role
- Experience with machining tools such as micrometers and calipers is a plus
- Ability to operate a forklift is a plus
