Job Summary

Responsible for all upkeep and repair duties at multiple Planet Fitness club locations. This includes maintaining the facilities to established standards, identifying the need for repairs, responding to manager repair requests, and servicing company equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Facility Maintenance

  • Repair and maintain of all facilities in franchise. May include repairs of walls, flooring, ceiling or other areas.
  • Renovate facilities as needed.
  • Repair equipment not requiring a specialized technician.

Preventative Maintenance

  • Monitor tanning booth bulbs and replace on a set schedule.
  • Maintain aspects of HVAC systems by changing filters per schedule and performing routine maintenance and cleaning.
  • Date fire extinguishers on a monthly basis and call to replace when necessary.

Plumbing

Diagnose and repair minor plumbing issues.

Miscellaneous

  • Return bottles and cans to local Clynk center.
  • Contact Regional Manager for purchase authorizations outside of regular orders.
  • Adjust parking lot light timers as needed for the season.
  • Maintain a clean / organized workspace.
  • Ability to lift machines or parts weighing at least 50lbs.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Regularly apply lubricants to machines.
  • Reupholster leather on equipment when wear and tear is present.

Qualifications / Skills

  • Positive friendly attitude.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Ability to execute and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for an array of items.
  • Punctuality and reliability is a must.
  • Ability to perform regular assessments of company facilities and equipment.
  • Represent the core values of Planet Fitness at all times, by upholding the beliefs of teamwork, positivity, integrity, passion, accountability.
  • Proficiency with hardware tools and power equipment.
  • Experience with plumbing and electrical is preferred.
  • Detail oriented with an aptitude for problem solving.
  • Must provide own transportation to travel to all club locations.
  • Responsible for contacting approved outside vendors in the event there’s a project beyond your capabilities.
  • Responsible for managing work of approved outside vendors SR1 .

Physical Demands

  • Visible continuous activity during shift.
  • Continual talking in person or on the phone to members during shift.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
  • Frequent cleaning of equipment and facilities.
