Role : Data Solutions Engineer

Location : Milwaukee, WI Hybrid Remote (3 days a week onsite)

Type : 6+ Month Contract to Potential Hire

Our manufacturing client in the Milwaukee area is seeking a Data Solutions Engineer to join a growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside one of the top tech leaders in Milwaukee.

Position Summary :

The Data Solutions Engineer designs, implements, and maintains the organizations data infrastructure, supporting business intelligence, reporting, and integration needs.

This role focuses on data architecture, application integration (EDI / ETL, API), and BI reporting, with ERP systems knowledge in a manufacturing environment.

Ideal candidates are skilled in SQL, SSIS, and Power BI, and have foundational software development experience.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Integration

  • Design scalable data architecture to support business applications and reporting.
  • Develop ETL processes using SSIS and APIs to support seamless data exchange across systems.
  • Maintain EDI workflows and document data lineage for data governance.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Build SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards for insights.
  • Collaborate with business units to address reporting needs and enhance manufacturing operations analysis.

ERP Systems & API Integration

  • Facilitate data integration between ERP, EDI, and other systems.
  • Work on ERP-related data projects and improve data flows.

Data Governance

  • Implement data governance practices and document data flows.
  • Ensure data security and compliance, especially with manufacturing-specific data.

Collaboration & Mentorship

Partner with teams on data-driven projects and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

  • Education : Bachelors in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience : 5+ years in data architecture, integration, reporting, and API development, with ETL, EDI, and ERP systems experience.

Manufacturing industry experience is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in SQL, SSIS, SSRS, Power BI, and data cataloging tools.
  • Experience in C# scripting within SSIS and API development (Python, Java).
  • Familiarity with EDI and ERP integration.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid role, onsite 3 days a week.
  • Occasional travel for team collaboration or partner meetings.
