DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Reporting to the Clinical Supervisor, the Independent Living Specialist is responsible for all aspects of an assigned caseload of tenants living in the program.
- Specific duties are focused around helping tenants maintain housing stability and include assisting with applications and re-certification for entitlements;
- providing linkages and referrals to community resources such as vocational, medical, mental health, and / or substance abuse services;
and providing supportive counseling. The Independent Living Specialist will also make regular visits to tenant apartments to ensure a safe and secure environment in compliance with guidelines.
HOURS :
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Tues-Sat 9am-5 : 30pm
- Mon-Fri 9am-5 : 30pm
QUALIFICATIONS :
BA in Psychology / related field OR At least three years relevant experience and HS diploma / GED required. Experience working with the substance abuse and / or mentally ill population required.
Basic computer literacy required. Bilingual Spanish Required. CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.
Vaccination preferred but not required.
