The Logistics Manager is responsible for the daily operations of Store Rooms, Receiving and Delivery, Courier and Mail Services as well as external warehousing.

The manager will drive Supply Chain and organizational initiatives as well as performance improvements in, but not limited to supply availability, inventory right-sizing and service levels.

In this role the Manager will work and partner with key stakeholder to improve services, co-led Value Analysis and ensure regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will apply critical thinking and lean methodologies to resolve problems and streamline processes, leverage technology and analytics to ensure efficiency and accuracy in daily responsibilities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manages, plans, and organizes the activities of the Distribution, Receiving and Delivering as well as Mailroom and Courier Services personnel.
  • Assures that inventory supplies are ordered, received, and issued in appropriate quantities in a timely manner.
  • Leads the implementation of perpetual inventory management in Store Rooms and other areas of responsibilities using the industry best practices.

Will establish cycle counts to ensure inventory stock-on-hand accuracy.

  • Develops operating and staff schedules to improve productivity and creates efficiencies within the department.
  • Establishes and monitors KPIs inventory metrics, i.e. Inventory turn-over rate, Days of Hand, Stock-Outs / Fill Rates etc.
  • Responsible for assisting Accounts Payable in resolving invoicing.
  • Hire and trains staff as well as conduct yearly competency and performance reviews.
  • Coaches staff as well as if necessary, disciplines in accordance to hospital policies.

Job Essentials : The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.

  • An accomplished Supervisor or Manager for at least three years. Greater than three years is a plus.
  • Strong computer skills and strong working knowledge of ERP software required. Infor / Lawson is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Inventory analytics, i.e. inventory turns, days inventory on hand.
  • Must be able to communicate excellently and have a customer service focus.

Education Requirements :

Associate's Degree or at least 5 years of Materials Management experience in lieu of required. BA or MS in Business is highly preferred.

MBA is a plus. Healthcare is a plus.
