Objectives :
The Assistant Technical Designer (ATD) will work closely with the Technical Designer, design team, and cross-functional partners on both menswear and womenswear, including golf, licensed, and fashion apparel, with a focus on cut-and-sew knits and woven garments.
This role requires a proactive, highly organized individual with a passion for apparel development. The ATD will help take products from concept through fit to production, ensuring the design vision is consistently translated into well-fitting garments.
Typical responsibilities include measuring samples, maintaining accurate records of measurements, assisting with fit sessions, and daily communication with suppliers via email.
Responsibilities :
Record Maintenance : Maintain and review complete records of fit sample measurements, specifications, and notes throughout development to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Cross-Department / Collaboration : Participate in cross-departmental discussions to facilitate the clear translation of design intent into production-ready garments.
Fit Sessions : - Attend fit sessions, take detailed notes, and capture photos as needed. - Maintain fit charts and manage the fit schedule with the model.
Supplier Collaboration : Collaborate with suppliers on specification and construction-related issues, providing clear fit comments with illustrations from proto through final production approval.
Qualifications :
Education & Experience
Degree in Fashion Design or Technical Design with 2-3 years of experience, or 5 years of experience in Technical Design without a degree.

- Able to adapt and find solutions when faced with unexpected challenges.
- Comfortable with precise documentation and open, clear communication between teams and with suppliers.
- Effectively manage concurrent projects while ensuring deadlines are consistently met, including coordinating with production schedules and timelines.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in teams while taking initiative on independent tasks
- Strong attention to detail, especially in measuring and documenting samples.
Technical Expertise
- Garment Knowledge : Solid understanding of garment construction and flat pattern techniques.
- A plus : Experience with 3D software such as Clo or Browzwear. Digital Savvy
- Design Tools : Advanced user of Adobe Illustrator.
- Spreadsheet Proficiency : Strong working knowledge of spreadsheet applications like Excel and Google Sheets.
- System Navigation : Familiar with PLM systems.
- Platform Flexibility : Experienced with both PC and Mac operating systems
