Assistant Diesel Mechanic
Moody Excavating, LLC is currently seeking applications to fill an open position for heavy equipment mechanic / maintenance technician.
We are looking for long-term candidates who value the opportunity for future advancement that our company offers. All positions with Moody Excavating, LLC require the ability to work overtime as needed and properly follow company polices and OSHA safety standards for a safe working environment.
Heavy Equipment Mechanic Job Duties :
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair equipment including off road trucks, excavators, & rollers
- Inspect, service, and adjust fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, and clutches
- Conduct regular preventative maintenance on equipment & company vehicles
- Maintain accurate records of each repair performed
- Ability to recognize mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems problems and formulate possible solutions
- Perform safety inspections on vehicles and equipment; conduct routine repair work under the supervision of a senior mechanic
- Assist mechanics in the performance of mechanical repairs as required
- Performs minor repairs and limited preventive maintenance (PM) on assigned equipment
Qualifications :
- A thorough understanding of diesel engines and heavy construction equipment
- Knowledgeable of both on road and off-road heavy machinery
- Must be able to pass an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) inquiry
- Must be able to use mechanics software to evaluate & close out work orders on assigned equipment
- This job has no supervisory duties
