JobSummary :
- TheGeorgia Dept. of Transportation (GDOT) is seeking a technical GISdeveloper for configuring and developing custom Esri ArcGISEnterprise 10x 11x (Javascript API Experience Builder ArcGISPortal / Online / Hub Field Maps) applications.
- Applications aredeployed within SharePoint web sites. Custom GIS solutions will beintegrated within .NET based applications GDOT databases(Oracle / Oracle Exadata SQL Server) data warehouse (Oracle Exadata)and enterprise reporting (Oracle Business Intelligence EnterpriseEdition (OBIEE) Data Visualizer or Power BI).
- The candidate willhave application programming / development implementation and supportexperience.
- Under broadsupervision the candidate will design code test modify and debugscomputer software and applications utilizing Esri ArcGIS.
- The candidate willresearch and analyze program or systems problems providesresolutions and complete system documentation.
- The candidate willtranslate business requirements / user stories into developmentactivities in secure commented and maintainable code.
- Thecandidate will be working in the Enterprise GIS Team of the Officeof IT Applications.
- The candidate willwork with supporting IT team members (database network server etc.)and interact with management architects developers and businessunits.
- The candidate willfollow internal SLDC standards / guidelines and accepted bestpractices for developingsolutions.
- The Enterprise GISteam is composed of 2 ArcGIS developers 2 System Administrators adata manager and team leader.
- The team supportsover 180 ArcGIS Desktop users and approximately 60000 annual ArcGISServer web visits.
- Applications supportGIS portal feature mapping project planning emergency operationspermitting safety and trafficrecords.
- The team developsenterprise GIS services applications and databases.
- The team coordinateswith client server network and database / data warehouse personnel tosupport and develop the underlying ITsolutions.
Responsibilities :
- Developscustomized web applications webservices mobile and enterprisesolutions
- Developsgeoprocessing and GIS webservices
- Develops GIS webediting / mappingapplications
- Conducts performanceunit system integration and quality assurance testing ofapplications
- Maintains existingapplications / services
- Upgrades and migratesexisting applications / services to current version / systemsarchitecture
- Provides end usersupport and creates supportdocumentation
- Works closely withother developers andarchitects
- Estimates work effortand proposes / designs developmentsolutions
Work TermsandConditions :
- 8 Hourworkdays on a fixed schedule (i.e. not a flexschedule) starting noearlier than 7 : 00AM Eastern Time starting no later than 9 : 00AMEastern Time Monday Friday 40 hours perweek
- GDOT has NOTspecified a number of days onsite vs remote. However localcandidates (i.e. able to come in office) will be preferred over anout of state candidates (i.
e. remote worker). GDOT preferscandidates who can demonstrate they have the capability to work ahybrid work schedule which is a combination of remote and inofficework.
Candidate capacity (i.e. days they could come into theoffice) to work a hybrid work schedule will be discussed duringinterviews.
- The consultant willfollow all applicable State of Georgia and GDOT policies proceduresstandards guidelines and accepted bestpractices.
- The position end dateis set for the end of the GDOT Fiscal Year. GDOT may exercise theoption to renew contracts in oneyear increments.
Several successfulconsultants have continued working for several years with contractextensions. However GDOT is under no obligation to extend contractsand may terminate employment at anytime.
- When teleworking orworking remotely consultant must have suitable internet connectionand environment to comply with GDOT teleworkpolicies.
- GDOT will reimburseauthorized travel expense lodging and meals. GDOT will reimburseauthorized travel use of a personal vehicle.
Any travel expenses tostart work or relocate to Georgia or will not be reimbursed. Alltravel expense reimbursement shall be in accordance with StateAccounting Office Travel Policy :
The Department has 13holidays which consultants are not allowed to work nor make up anytime for those holiday weeks without managements approval.
Consultants are not to take extended leaveduring
- their first year ofservice (e.g. greater than1week).
- Consultant must havecell phone which can be used for businesscalls.
- GDOT does not providefree parking. All routine commuting expenses are the responsibilityof theconsultant.
