Accountabilities
- Coordinates, reviews, plans, updates, and implements medical nutrition therapy to patients according to established policies and procedures. - 30%
- Monitors patients receiving nutrition support . - 25%
- Provide nutrition education to patients, caregivers, staff and community partners. - 15%
- Serves as a preceptor for medical, dietetic and food service interns and / or clinical research. - 15%
- Participates and serves on interdisciplinary team meetings, patient rounds, multidisciplinary committees and / or discharge planning. - 10%
- Assist with performance and quality improvement projects. - 5%
Supervisory / Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Qualifications Education - Bachelor's degree from an Academy of Dietetics (AND) accredited institution and / or approved internship programExperience - No previous experience required Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
- Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) Registration
- South Carolina Dietetics License
Other Required Skills / Experience
- Maintain 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years
- Ability to interpret data, teach, communicate to other healthcare professionals, manipulate numbers and write in medical record
- Inpatient, outpatient or community healthcare experience (PREFERRED)
- Knowledge of AND, Joint Commission, Department of Health and Environmental Control and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (PREFERRED)
