Job Description : Speech-Language Pathologist
Location : Littleton, Colorado
Overview : Littleton City Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students.
This role involves working closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to create individualized treatment plans and support students communication needs within the educational setting.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations of students to diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom setting.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, therapy sessions, and IEPs.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Provide training and support to teachers and parents on strategies to support speech and language development.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology through professional development.
Qualifications :
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider license with a Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
- Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and other school staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth.
Licensure and Certification Requirements :
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider license with a Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
- Clear background check and fingerprinting as required by Littleton City Schools.
