Electro-Mechanical Technician A
Group 33 is seeking a Technician for the RF / Microwave measurement laboratory. The candidate will work in an RF / Microwave laboratory supporting multiple programs and assisting the group in fabrication needs.
Will assist in laboratory, research, or analytical work under direction or supervision of scientific personnel. Operates highly technical experimental apparatus.
- Has demonstrated considerable skill and good performance in the particular field of activity. Duties include, but are not limited to, assembly of antennas and microwave components for high frequencies;
- electronic assembly and wiring from schematics; assembly of microwave circuits, antenna components, and RF coaxial components;
- mechanical assembly from drawings; interfacing with machinist and fabrication personnel; occasional antenna tower climbing;
some light to moderate lifting of chassis and equipment with a maximum of 50 pounds; and work under non-laboratory conditions (i.
e., outdoor work). The position will require some travel for setup and cabling, typically, but not limited to, the continental U.S.
Requirements :
- Graduation from a two-year technical school or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of experience.
- Candidate should be well organized, detail oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- This position requires strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have good hands-on skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimum supervision.
- The ideal candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a solid work ethic.
- Candidate must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
- Reliable (solid attendance).
- Experience with cable fabrication utilizing MIL style, as well as RF connectors.
- Soldering skills to include wiring, PCB, SMT.
- Advanced soldering certification desirable.
- Familiarity with digital power supply and DVM test equipment.
