Maintenance Manager

Description :

The Maintenance Manager directly to the Plant Manager and is a key member of the site leadership team. This role serves as the leader of the maintenance team and acts as the site's technical resource in all aspects of industrial and facilities maintenance to ensure a safe and efficient manufacturing environment at all times.

The scope of this role includes all aspects of building maintenance and manufacturing infrastructure as well as the regular maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of all manufacturing equipment and capital assets located within the Shortsville facility.

Essential Job Functions

Short Term Focus :

• Recruit, hire and train a team of maintenance mechanics capable of supporting a 24 / 5 highly automated manufacturing facility.
• Lead the creation and development of the site TPM program which will encompass spare parts procurement strategies, preventative maintenance programs, hot work and confined space entry programs, and the procurement and management of all tooling required to support the facility.
• Act as a hands on resource to ensure the facility has a successful ramp up into full production.
• Sourcing and Implementation of a CMMS program that can has the ability to be scaled across multiple sites and asset groups.

Long Term General Job Duties :

• Manage a maintenance program that incorporates both preventative and routine maintenance activities, aimed to minimize machine downtime.
• Lead mechanical staff in repairs or rebuild of equipment as needed to avoid breakdowns, ensuring that work is completed safely and documented accurate.
• Lead the training requirements and professional development of maintenance team.
• Trouble shoot and identify equipment problems and solutions when necessary.
• Responsible to manager spare parts inventory
• Complies with corporate standards and applicable laws and regulations issued by regulatory agencies.
• Establishes goals & objectives for the maintenance department that are aligned with plant & business goals.
• Ensures equipment is properly maintained to meet production schedules & quality standards.
• Accountable for improving equipment availability and for the advancement of preventative and predictive maintenance programs as well as the achievement of plant reliability excellence.
• Accountable for efficient utilization of maintenance technicians and equipment and advancing the planning and scheduling processes.
• Initiates and drives improvements via training programs, capital projects, and other means available to continually focus on productivity and control of maintenance & capital spend.
• Evaluate employee's performance to determine training needs & development opportunities.

Requirements :

• Must have a positive & friendly attitude.
• Bachelor's degrees in Engineering preferred, will consider those with strong background and experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 5 years in direct maintenance experience.
• Minimum 2 years in supervisory / leadership role.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong presentation skills effective across a broad range of audiences.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Excel, Word, and Power Point.
• PLC experience is a plus.
• Able to work weekends if needed.
