Our client, a globally well-established company in the manufacturing of fragrances is looking for a full-time Cosmetic Chemist.
The candidate will be specializing in optimizing cosmetic formulas for quality, cost-efficiency, and regulatory compliance across the EU, USA, and LATAM.
Summary :
Support the R&D development laboratories optimizing existing and in development formulas in order to improve their quality, cost and efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but not limited to :
Raw materials management :
- Be part of R&D representatives at the committee of efficiency
- Support the process of new raw materials approval.
Formulation :
- Test RM alternatives in existing or in development formulas in order to reduce the RM risk factor.
- Help development labs when needed with plan of experiments
- Complete projects according to timetable, following the EU, USA, LATAM regulations compliance during the development.
- Summarize trial data and provide recommendations
- Participate actively in the scale up process from the lab to the pilot proposing innovative solutions.
- Evaluate pilot / production batch and review records for accuracy
- Travel to Peru and Colombia for pilot test, assistance to quality control and production.
Others :
- Ability to demonstrate the proficiency in the use of the Research & Development software.
- Create and validate information or changes of information in Software
- Meet with suppliers of raw materials.
- Attend meetings and seminars as requested.
- Other duties and responsibilities as they may arise.
Education Experience :
- Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry (B.A.) from four-year college or university
- Eight or more years' related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Computer Software, Applications / Systems : Data base software, SAP and LASCOM
- Other Qualifications : must be able to operate a mixer, grinder, press machine, hot plate, centrifuge, pH meter and viscometer, and any other basic laboratory equipment.
