Production Manager
Join our client who is a Livingston machinery manufacturer as Production Manager. This is a key position helping run a growing equipment manufacturer with sales both nationally and internationally.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the right skill set including : knowledge of machine shop practice and manufacturing, excellent scheduling and follow up capability, leadership skills, excellent people and communication skills along with a comfort with manufacturing computer software.
We are looking for an individual who is comfortable in a leadership position with a strong manufacturing background.
The position entails these activities
- Supervise all Production phases to assure high productivity and on time deliveries
- Plan Production Schedule to meet shipping dates and volume needs
- Review Drawings and determine best manufacturing method
- Interface with engineering dept. to assure drawings are manufacturable
- Plan Inventory levels and re-order points
- Determine best methods to manufacture parts and routing
- Decide on Make / Buy decisions
- Use manufacturing software for scheduling, costing and loading
- Work closely with company president to assure manufacturing is in accordance with company plans and requirements.
- Find and qualify vendors and oversee their quality
- Estimating
- Work with Shop Foreman and Purchasing and other Production Personnel
- Work with sales department to meet their sales needs
