Job Description

Qualifications :

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an Associate or Experienced Life Cycle Management (LCM) Process Engineers to support our unique C-17 Delegation of Engineering authority (DEA) program in Warner Robins, GA.

In this role, your efforts will include collaborating with our globally located DEA engineers to assist in the analysis and identification of technical issues, trends and corrective actions to improve / optimize aircraft equipment, maintenance procedures in the Operational, Depot, Repair & Overhaul and Build environments.

You will support a multi-disciplined team in the development and sustainment of the C-17 program wide Engineering Disposition Repository System (EDARS) which includes standardized and optimized processes which links formal Engineering Disposition / Non-conformance records across multiple data systems enabling single point access for our engineering team and customers.

You will also support the team in further refinement of trending techniques to identify technical issues and high drivers to improve maintainability of this aging aircraft.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Applies knowledge of Boeing C-17 design principles to assess and resolve product / process issues through the product lifecycle.
  • Analyzes, conducts root cause analysis and recommends solutions to improve recurring non-conformances or support RCCA for emergent A / C equipment issues.
  • Applies engineering principles to research technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by customer and designs interim and final engineering solutions.
  • Identifies documents, analyzes reported problems and communicates deviations that could impact design intent and safety;

recommends and manages resolution.

  • Develops and implements product / process improvements.
  • Represents the engineering community in the sustainment environment.
  • Ensures supplier compliance with Boeing C-17 standards.
  • Develops and conveys engineering and customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Support team in the implementation of the Engineering Disposition Repository System (EDARS) as a tool to further support aircraft / equipment issues by applying engineering principles, processes, and experience to research technical issues addressed across the Operational, Depot, Repair & Overhaul, and Build environments in an effort to : 1) identify, trend and support efforts to mitigate repeat / recurrent engineering dispositions;

2) Drive Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA); and 3) Define and drive process improvements for team / customer awareness, efficiency and responsiveness.

Lead efforts to improve analytical and trending techniques across disparate systems utilized by broad C-17 community to identify innovative approaches to support fleet readiness and maintainability of warfighter through 2075.

Support program efforts to optimize our C-17 preventive maintenance program (Operational Home Station Check and Depot based Heavy Maintenance) by active participation in our Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Maintenance Steering Group (MSG) efforts.

Key to this activity is the identification and mitigation of Recurrent / Repeat Engineering Dispositions.

  • Support and collaborate with globally located engineers, DEA Engineers, DEA Designated Trainers, Functional Engineering Managers (FEM) and maintenance / logistics professionals in the analysis and trending of released engineering disposition (repair design instructions) across all sustainment environments.
  • Provide recurrent internal and / or external product and performance summaries focused on driven-based issues and status reports on associated corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintains strong technical network and collaboration with on-site and program wide C-17 Engineering, System Engineering, Reliability and Maintainability for tool improvements.
  • Support development, execution, and sustainment of the yearly USAF / FMS engineering and Operational Command Airworthiness review.
  • Perform technical research, evaluation and trending of formally released engineering instructions (disposition) in support of efforts to develop system / equipment, process, and / or maintenance concept / task improvements.
  • Acquire / Maintain data system access (multiple non-conformance and maintenance data systems) and process awareness to enable capture, trending, and reporting of engineering products to support multiple contract requirements and deliverables.
  • Requires frequent interaction with USAF SPO, Delegated Engineering Authority (DEA) Cognizant engineers and Active Military personnel (all levels).

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

An interim and / or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options (Warner Robins, GA) .

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience) :

  • Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in systems engineering, engineering, or computer science or Aircraft mx and operations technology.
  • 3+ years of experience with reliability, maintainability, safety or supportability.
  • 3+ years of experience with data systems / data mining, performance trending, root cause correct action
  • Ability to confidently perform and communicate across multiple engineering, logistics, and product support functions / roles.
  • Ability to adapt and use multiple data systems with the expressed result of developing and providing professional level trend and performance reports / presentations.
  • Previous Aircraft / Large Platform Structural, Mechanical, and / or Electrical design, repair design, inspection (NDI and / or other methods), and systems operational Check / Testing experience and / or Large Aircraft Maintenance experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills / Experience) :

  • 5+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education.
  • Program-level Life Cycle Management and / or Systems Engineering Plan and process development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with C-17 Program and Engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working within or accessing non-conformance data systems such as VECTOR, GOLDesp and / or AutoTAR.
  • Familiar with USAF processes, regulations and protocols.

Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.

g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.

g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Experienced Level (3) :

Education / experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.

g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.

g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Associate Level (2) Summary pay range : $73,100 - $98,900

Experienced Level (3) Summary pay range : $88,400 - $119,600
