Medical Biller - Ambulatory Surgery Center - Remote!
Lakeside Dental Management is seeking an experienced full-time medical biller to support an ambulatory surgery center.
This is a full-time remote role for an ASC Medical Billing professional. The ASC Medical Billing professional will be responsible for managing billing, insurance, and collections for our ambulatory surgery center.
This includes processing claims, verifying insurance coverage, and managing accounts receivable. The ASC Medical Billing professional will also work closely with our team to ensure compliance with medical terminologies, denials, ICD-10 coding, and Medicaid, Medicare and commercial insurance policies.
Responsibilities :
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to surgical cases
- Coordinate with insurance companies to obtain necessary authorizations for surgery
- Assist patients with understanding their insurance coverage and answering any related questions
- Process insurance claims and follow up on outstanding claims
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations when handling sensitive patient information
- Collaborate with referring office staff to ensure smooth billing and reimbursement processes
- Stay up-to-date on changes in insurance policies, coding guidelines, and industry regulations
Preferred Experience :
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience handling and processing claims for an Ambulatory Surgery Center.
- Previous Experience billing Anesthesia Services
- Experience billing facility services to Florida Medicaid plans
Required Experience :
- Previous experience working in a dental office setting is preferred
- Familiarity with medical and dental terminology, CPT codes, D-codes, common commercial medical plans, and Florida Medicaid managed care plans.
- Proficient in using office software applications such as Excel, Word.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
