Certification Details

• Certs : Chemotherapy administration certification is required prior to start; required to obtain prior to start. Will accept travelers that do not currently have the ONC cert! BLS.
• PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP : CPI. Charge nurse experience.

Job Details

• RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.
• WILL CERT FOR CHEMO
• JOB DETAILS : will work with oncology as well as medical surgical patients
• Target Ratios : 1 : 6-7
• Shift : NIGHTS; Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays!
• PATIENT DIAGNOSES : High Acuity Adults and Geriatrics.
• SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS : Daily Census 42.
• General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population. Administration of chemotherapy / biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection.

DKA - Insulin drip, AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips.

• UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication) : PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR.
• UNIT ORIENTATION : 24 hrs (2 shifts)
• SCRUBS : Navy Blue and white.

Job Requirements

• REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP : Minimum Years of Experience : 1 year
• Traveler Experience : Will accept 1st time travelers.
• Locals Accepted / Rate Difference : Yes
• Skills : Administer chemo. Experience in an inpatient setting is required

Schedule Information

• Shift : NIGHTS; Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks+ up to March 15, 2025 (hard stop) to get the unit through the holidays!
• RTO : 7 days MAX - NO CHRISTMAS RTO; 36 or 48 hours. If 48 then no OT billed until after 48.
• Call Requirement : Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift.
• Float Requirement : Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding, such as inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location.
• Weekend Requirement : *EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED.
• Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and / or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster.

Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed
