Role Description

The Project Manager at Canyon’s Construction reports directly to the CEO and oversees the full project lifecycle from planning to execution.

This role is responsible for managing day-to-day construction and remodeling operations while adhering to our company’s quality standards and workplace safety expectations.

Essential tasks within a project include plan review and troubleshooting, project scheduling, and subcontractor selection / hiring.

This role serves as a liaison between all project stakeholders including designers, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.

The Project Manager’s ability to navigate professional relationships with subcontractors, vendors, internal team members, and clients is also critical to building Canyon’s Construction’s professional network.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Work with the field team in planning projects to optimize the efficiency of labor, equipment, material, and subcontractors
  • Attend, or delegate attendance to, city / county inspections as per the requirements of the jurisdiction and project type
  • Ensure that inspection follow-ups are completed promptly and pass the requirements
  • Evaluate and correct vendor / subcontractor work quality and performance, as needed
  • Full responsibility for the overall management of assigned project timelines, from award and pre-construction through final approvals and project close-out
  • Provide field staff with all necessary information, specifications, and supplies to complete every project successfully
  • Communicate and validate the scope of the project with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal staff to ensure the project is on time and within budget
  • Creation and management of project schedules, client meetings & field measures
  • Work with clients and other stakeholders to determine, execute and evaluate client expectations
  • Work with the Design Manager and Craftsman to adhere to Canyon’s Construction Services’ budgetary, scheduling, and quality standards
  • Ensure proper management and validation of materials ordered, en route, and receive at each project site
  • Collaborate with the internal team to provide superior customer service to our clients
  • Embody Canyon’s Construction’s core values and quality assurance standards

Position Requirements

  • BA in Construction Management or an equivalent certification / experience
  • 2-5 years of experience in managing projects between $100k-$1M in size
  • 5 years of experience in a residential construction project management position
  • Proficiency with Google Suite (Calendar, Drive, Gmail) & Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Experience with Mavenlink or other project management software, a plus
  • General technical proficiency and adaptability to new systems or technologies
  • Adept at reading and interpreting construction plans, both structural and architectural
  • Excellent communication skills are a must - written and verbal
  • Proactive organization, time, and schedule management skills
