Faculty Position DNP Program
The School of Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications and nominations for two full time nursing faculty positions teaching in the DNP program.
Candidates for this faculty position must have expertise and experience in one of the following areas : quality and safety, translational science, or population health.
A minimum of a doctorate degree in nursing or a related field is required. Prior teaching experience and writing skills are preferred.
Rank, tenure, and salary are competitive and commensurate with professional background and experience. Candidates must hold an unencumbered registered nurse license in the state of Alabama or be eligible for licensure as a registered nurse in Alabama.
Faculty may elect different degrees of emphasis on the teaching, service and scholarship components of the faculty role.
This is not a remote position.

The UAB School of Nursing is designated a Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for International Nursing, hosts a Paul D.
Coverdell Peace Corps Fellows Program and is one of the leading VA Nursing Academic Partnerships in the nation. Based at the state’s flagship Academic Health Science Center with the third largest public hospital in the nation, the School is a leader in collaborative science and home to the state’s only nursing-specific research initiative with a diverse funding portfolio supporting scholarship in health equity, oncology, palliative care, HIV / AIDS, pediatrics, occupational health, and aging, among others.
The School is also home to state-of-the-art nursing simulation and skills laboratories with some of the most current technology in health care, providing interdisciplinary students, and faculty, hands-on clinical learning experiences to enhance skills development, teamwork, communication, critical thinking and clinical judgment.
