Pay Range* : $20.50 / hr - $28.08 / hr

Bonus : $1,500 Sign On

Position Summary

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center.

The employee shall support Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center’s strategic plan and participate in and advocate performance improvement / patient safety activities.

The Patient Care Assistant II is an unlicensed caregiver working under the direction of the Physician / Registered Nurse.

This position is responsible for supporting the Labor & Delivery Department environment to maintain smooth, effective communication between healthcare practitioners, departments, patients, and visitors.

The Patient Care Assistant II position is accountable for the accurate maintenance of the patient medical record, including computer order entry.

In addition, this role is accountable for patient admission, transfer, discharge flow processes, and for providing the most basic of patient care including personal hygiene, assistance with activities of daily living such as ambulating, toileting, feeding and wheelchair assistance at time of discharge.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of patient privacy rights. Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial and other sensitive material in printed, electronic or verbal form, which may jeopardize the privacy of patients and or employees.

  • Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications.

In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for this role, including but not limited to, shift differentials, extra shift incentives, and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

Experience

  • One year acute care experience as nursing assistant or nursing student who has completed the first semester of nursing school preferred.
  • Computer, internet, order entry and word processing experience preferred.
  • Proficient in medical terminology.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalency.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support Card.
