EHS Recycling Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY : Requires operation of liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as a forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products.

Responsible for waste, recyclable materials handling and processing, loading and unloading trucks, and distribution / removal of material within the warehouse, production areas and building exterior by performing the following duties personally.

Performance is evaluated initially during each employee’s Introductory Period using the on boarding plan and manager observation.

Thereafter, competencies are assessed on an on-going basis and formally documented annually using the Annual Performance Evaluation Form.

JOB FUNCTIONS :

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

• Drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial trucks.
• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Positions forks or other lifting device under loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.
• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Transport and deliver material in between the GC, Logistics and exterior recycling area.
• Before moving material, assures that product is secure on skids.
• Wraps or bands skids for stability.
• Weighs materials or products and records weight for transport.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
• Loads and unloads trucks, distributes and transfers materials into and out of the warehouse.
• Inspect lifts via IAuditor, recharges batteries or replaces liquefied gas tank.
• Performs basic maintenance on forklift as required.
• Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment.
• Drive Corporate box trucks when prompted

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :

Education / Experience :

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) : or 1 to 3 months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Skills / Qualifications :

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Operate Miller Zell’s box trucks and in a safe manor.
• General knowledge and use of IAuditor
• Valid Georgia Drivers License with clean driving record
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• General capabilities in Microsoft Outlook, Teams and Word.
• Must complete the Miller Zell Forklift Certification program and obtain a valid Miller Zell Forklift license before hire.
• General knowledge of Miller Zell’s recycling program.
• Must be an active member of the Miller Zell Recycling.
• MENTAL AND EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS : The incumbent must manage stress appropriately; make decisions under pressure; handle multiple priorities, work alone;

work in areas that are confined and / or crowded.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS : The incumbent may be exposed to toxins, chemicals, and extreme temperatures (30degrees F 115 degrees F), dust, fumes, moving mechanical parts, high pitched noises, or gases.

The incumbent will spend approximately 60% of their time indoors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel;

reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move 50 pounds.
