Job Summary
We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as Pharmacist. You will be preparing and dispense prescriptions, ensure medicines and doses are correct, prevent harmful drug interactions, and counsel patients on the safe and appropriate use of their medications.
Job Description
- Review and accepts orders on the hospital computerized physician order entry for accuracy prior to dispensing.
- Fill unit-dose medication carts by each nursing unit.
- Compound and dispenses pharmaceuticals, including sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition preparations accurately.
- Issues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records as required by law.
- Communicate pending issues to other pharmacy personnel prior to leaving each shift.
- Replace medications removed from emergency carts accurately within established time frames.
- Ensure integrity of emergency cart locks.
- Replace expired medications in emergency carts.
- Ensure that emergency cart expiration date is within time specified by departmental policy.
- Prepare requests for medication from the stock room.
- Store medications and hazardous chemicals safely and securely
- Review STAT orders.
Skills Required
- 1 year Pharmacist experience
- Help patients with the treatments they go through as part of their cancer care plan
- Notes and information collected by and for the clinicians in that office, clinic, or hospital and are mostly used by providers for diagnosis and treatment.
- Cleaning and sterilization of devices used in medical procedures
- Encourage to reflect, describe, analyze, and communicate in some way that which was recently experienced.
Education / Training / Certifications
- Valid license to practice as a pharmacist issued by NYSED, Primary Source Verification required
- Pharmacy dispensing system experience, Sterile Processing experience, IV room experience, knowledge of an EMR (Electronic Medical Records system) preferred.
Additional Requirements
Malpractice Insurance - All clinical workers are required to have active individual Medical Malpractice.A copy must be provided prior to start of assignment.
All clinical workers licensed by the state of NY are required to provide.
Schedule Notes : There are two shifts : evening : 3 : 30-12MN and the overnight which is 12MN to 8 : 30am. It is every other weekend and Holidays.
Maximum of 4 major Holidays. Please make sure your candidate is available for the shift needed. Please see the shift time, hours per week / day on the request and ensure your worker will be able to commit to the schedule provided by the facility.
Pay Rate
- $90.00 per hour
