Responsibilities
Peraton is currently seeking skilled and qualified candidates for a Performance Data Engineer with the USPS program located in Raleigh, NC.
This person is responsible for product support and maintenance of the data warehouse. Performs data warehouse design and construction.
Codes and documents scripts and stored procedures.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities :
- Designs and implements data strategy methods.
- Develops appropriate programs and systems documentation.
- Assists with metadata repository management.
- Prepares and implements data verification and testing methods for the data warehouse.
- Creates index and view scripts.
- Performs all functional duties independently.
- Works on high-visibility programs, or mission critical aspects of assigned program(s).
- Oversees the efforts of direct reporting resources and / or is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years' experience, master's degree with 3+ years' experience or high school diploma / GED with 9+ years' experience.
- U.S. Citizenship and resided within the U.S. the past five years with no more than six months outside travel of the U.S. during this timeframe.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Strong experience with Teradata optimizer required.
- Ability to read SQL "explain" plans and take action.
- Experience with UNIX commands and concepts in order to navigate source code directories, find error logs, perform impact analysis assessments, edit code and version files.
- Experience with Linux Shell scripting in order to read and create driver scripts.
- Experience with Ab Initio performing data extracts, transformations and loading. Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
