Roles You Will Play
Associate Brand Champion
- Lead and inspire a team of recruiting and talent management professionals to connect the best talent with the right opportunities.
- Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders to understand and address business needs.
- Seek and act on feedback to continuously improve team performance.
- Establish relationships inside and outside of the industry to identify the right recruiting sources and development approaches.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to develop impactful hiring and retention programs.
- Collaborate with peers within the Talent function to integrate systems and processes for an enhanced candidate and associate experience.
Strategist
- Stay ahead of the latest, most effective recruiting and retention strategies.
- Develop and implement a strategy to support both short-term and long-term business growth.
- Highlight the value of Talent functions through team development and stakeholder relationships.
- Design and monitor actionable Talent Acquisition and Talent Management metrics that drive business results.
- Refine the interview and feedback process to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
- Partner with Marketing to design and execute a dynamic recruiting strategy, including events and digital marketing.
- Coach the Talent Acquisition team for peak performance and while driving accountability for business results.
- Establish relationships with Hiring Managers making the case for value creation through the acquisition of talent by establishing relationships and creditably with key stakeholders.
Talent Leader
- Champion the value proposition of Talent Management activities, securing organizational buy-in.
- Lead the design and execution of Cortland’s strategic Talent Management plan.
- Own the design and implementation of the talent review process and succession planning for the organization.
- Collaborate with leaders and HR business partners to design development plans that enable intentional movement of key talent into our most critical roles.
- Partner with Learning and Development to ensure thematic needs are addressed by developing and instituting leadership development programs aligned to our long-range business plan.
- Act as the Talent Czar, developing relationships with high-potential associates and providing a holistic view of talent across the enterprise.
- Engage with leaders across Cortland to understand our business trajectory and talent needs.

Building Blocks of Success
- Stellar 10+ years in talent acquisition / talent management leadership roles, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop the talent functions.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of a wide array of corporate and field positions.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to motivate teams to produce high-quality work within tight timeframes while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- Experienced and comfortable working directly with C-level internal customers.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Demonstrated experience with various Applicant Tracking software, TM / Development Software, social media, and job boards.
- This is a full-time, in-office role at our Atlanta Headquarters.
