Purpose
To care for and teach young children in a child care environment. Responsible for providing a variety of functions in care giving and teaching in a child care learning environment.
No Sponsorship
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans.
- Supervise and care for children in the 3-5 year age range both indoors and outdoors.
- Communicate daily with parents.
- Supervise assistant.
Required Qualifications
High school graduation or GED. One year of experience working with young children in a licensed child care center.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands on experience leading 0-5 year olds. Formal training in a child related field. Previous experience working in an accredited center.
Previous lead teacher experience teaching pre-k. Stable work history. Bilingual a plus.
Salary Range
$50,000

Employment Eligibility :
Regular staff who have been employed in their current position for the last six continuous months are eligible for openings being recruited for through University-Wide or Open Recruiting, to include both promotional opportunities and lateral transfers.

Retirement Plan Eligibility :
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
