POSITION : Special Education Teacher in Grades 6-8
REPORTS TO : Building Principal
Start Date : As soon as possible
Work Year : Contract length determined by Master Agreement
DISTRICT PROFILE : The Laingsburg Community School District serves the city of Laingsburg as well as several surrounding townships a vibrant rural area of mid-Michigan.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
- Possess valid Michigan teaching certificate, with an endorsement in Special Education or a willingness to enter a certification program for Special Education.
- Ability to manage and organize IEP’s, administer assessments and analyze reports.
- Be knowledgeable in IDEA and MDE regulations for educating and assessing students with disabilities.
- Use technology as a tool within the classroom.
- Establish effective relationships with students and model respect for and acceptance of all persons in the school setting.
- Collaborate with parents, community and staff members.
- Maintain professional ethics and responsibilities including participation in the total school program, participation in curriculum development and building committees.
Salary benefits : As specified in the Master Agreement. Laingsburg Community Schools does honor up to 15 years of teaching experience on the salary schedule, as specified in the Master Agreement.
