Position Summary The Smokehouse BBQ and Brews Host / Hostess is responsible for the warm friendly immediate greeting of the guest.
Seats and presents menus to guests in a friendly, professional, and quick manner for the part-time position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Greeting and seating guests, presenting menus to guests, informing them of special menu itemsTreating guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfactionTaking names on a waiting listRunning the floor plan boardObserving tables and keeping track of clean, dirty, and occupied tablesTaking guest information and quoting wait time to guests accurately when tables are not immediately availableCleaning, organizing, and stocking menus at host areaAnswering phone and answering questions concerning the menu and restaurantInteracting with guests coming in and as they leave, ensuring a positive dining experienceFilling to go orders, if applicablePerforming other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Must be 16 years of ageDisplay positive, professional and enthusiastic attitudeExcellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members and guests)Must be able to read, write, and determine wait time based on companys proceduresAbility to work under pressure in fast paced environmentTeamwork orientedStrong organizational skills and ability to multi-taskKnowledge of workplace safety and emergency proceduresThoroughness and attention to detailMust visually scan restaurant for clean, unoccupied tablesTime managementHigh degree of quality in all work produced
