Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Design and Planning : Identify design criteria, plan, and execute effective designs that exceed client expectations.
Client Interface : Serve as the primary contact for clients, managing plan processing with public agencies.
Business Development : Engage in marketing and lead generation, bringing a strong book of business to the firm.
Administrative and Financial Management : Handle invoicing, budget monitoring, proposals, change orders, timecard approvals, and attend required meetings.
Essential Duties
Develop schedules and oversee the design team's workflow, coordinating closely with the Senior Project Manager.
Supervise the preparation of plans, technical reports, cost estimates, and client deliverables, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective designs that meet agency and client standards.
Manage relationships with agencies, overseeing plan approvals and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Coordinate with outside consultants and internal departments, initiating project phase meetings as necessary.
Conduct site investigations, oversee construction site visits, and ensure plans conform to project requirements.
Provide workload forecasts and communicate resource needs to the Senior Project Manager.
Conduct staff reviews, provide coaching and training, and ensure accurate time charging to projects.
Track project budgets, handle billing, and manage change orders as needed.
Promote innovative ideas and procedures within the team.
Represent the firm in client and agency meetings.
Attend and evaluate seminars, applying key learnings to improve processes.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise 1-5 employees within the Engineering Team, including interviewing, training, assigning work, appraising performance, and resolving issues in coordination with the Principal or Senior Project Manager.
