DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Ensures that all actions are in concert with the Board policies as well as the mission statement, beliefs, objectives and parameters found in the Board’s strategic plan.
- Participates in job training and professional growth opportunities in order to enhance ability to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment.
- Participate in Tier 1 problem solving meetings and support teachers in using data to identify and group at-risk children, implement evidence-based interventions, and document progress monitoring.
- Participate in PLC meetings to assist with instructional planning and instructional design.
- Personalize student learning (design, select, modify and evaluate a wide range of materials), and provide in-class Tier 1 intervention utilizing differentiated instruction during scheduled reading / math periods.
- Collaborate with Title 1 Tutors, Instructional Coaches, and classroom teachers about how students differ in their approaches to learning and create instructional opportunities that are adapted to diverse learners.
- Gather and organize grade-level / subject area universal assessment results for progress monitoring and oversee progress monitoring at each tier of MTSS.
- Assess implementation of classroom interventions to ensure program fidelity.
- Develop, document, maintain ongoing academic plans (Individual Student Growth and Learning Plans) for students in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Interventions.
- Provide scientific, research-based Tier 2 Interventions / Tier 3 Interventions outside of the scheduled reading / math blocks to small groups of students with similarly identified needs for up to thirty (30) / sixty (60) minutes daily utilizing, supplemental materials tied to the core reading / math programs as indicated by on-going, diagnostic needs assessment.
- Observe Tier II and Tier III students in classroom setting.
- Maintain database and progress monitor students identified for intervention, to facilitate entry / exit decision-making.
- Administer formative assessments to monitor progress and maximize student success.
- Schedule and assign students to Tier 2 and Tier 3 Interventions.
- Participate in Tier 2 and Tier 3 Problem Solving Meetings.
- Keep informed of best practices and new developments related to literacy and math and share the information with appropriate staff as professional development.
- Participate in District MTSS PLC meetings that allow for collaboration and address key issues in programming.
QUALIFICATIONS :
State of Illinois Teaching Certificate. Three to five years’ experience working within MTSS framework preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS :
Moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
