We are seeking a Civil Engineering Intern to become an integral part of our Transportation Design team with the aptitude and desire to also work with the Development Services team to experience a wide range of Civil Engineering opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Work directly with Project Managers, Engineers, and other Designers to resolve problems and create construction documents from project survey data, sketches, existing drawings, electronic images, specifications, written and verbal descriptions.
- The successful candidate will assist in the design and drafting of small, medium, and large size Transportation Infrastructure and Development related projects.
- Typical projects will be for highway / rural roadway and bridge projects, residential, multi-family, commercial and industrial site development related projects.
- Responsibilities may include; roadway, drainage, utility, bridge / culvert infrastructure, site grading & design and hydraulic analysis design related to Transportation and Development projects.
- Work closely with Engineers & EIT’s to ensure that the drawings convey the correct information.
- Research technical and other information sources to resolve standard to complex problems / issues.
- Use in-house and client driven drawing standards as guidelines.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience in or basic knowledge of civil design with MicroStation InRoads / OpenRoads and / or Autodesk Civil3D a plus.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products and .pdf editing tools such as Bluebeam Revu.
- Experience with GIS and ESRI software a plus.
- Responsibilities may include 3D surface modeling and design drafting, 3D modeling experience a plus.
- Perform additional duties / assignments related to projects as required.
- Knowledge of principals of design and construction for utilities, infrastructure, roadways, and bridges.
- Knowledge of construction plan assembly including plan, profile and cross-section development, grading, drainage, and quantity summaries.

- Attendance, punctuality, and reliability.
- Working towards a Bachelor of Science or master’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited school preferred.
- 0 - 3 years engineering experience with a background in Transportation related projects and / or related academic curriculum
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers, co-workers, clients, customers, and the public.
- Candidate must possess a valid Driver’s License; must be able to meet company insurability requirements.
