We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our Family in San Antonio!

We currently have both Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.

Locations : Austin / San Antonio

Introduction

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Lab Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dynamic laboratory environment.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing lab staff, maintaining a safe and efficient workspace, and ensuring that all procedures and documentation comply with regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring all processes and activities are carried out efficiently.
  • Implement and maintain laboratory safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of laboratory personnel, providing training and mentorship as needed.
  • Ensure the calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment to guarantee accurate and reliable results.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to maintain high standards of laboratory outputs.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication among laboratory staff to promote a productive working environment.
  • Manage the storage and disposal of hazardous materials in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Keep abreast of technological advancements and industry trends to ensure the laboratory remains current and efficient.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records, reports, and documentation of laboratory activities and results.
  • Establish and enforce laboratory policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing process enhancements.
  • Ensure the laboratory is prepared for and passes internal and external audits and inspections.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related field; Master’s degree or PhD preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
  • Familiarity with laboratory best practices and safety protocols
  • Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Demonstrated experience in managing laboratory budgets and procurement
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of scientists and technicians
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards such as CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and FDA
  • Experience with quality control and assurance procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain laboratory equipment
  • Proven track record in project management and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capacity to develop and implement laboratory policies and standard operating procedures
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and new technologies
  • Commitment to professional development and continuing education for self and laboratory staff
  • C ertification or certification eligibility for MT (ASCP), or MT (AMT)
