Objectives of Position :
The Electrical Engineer will be working as part of a multidiscipline maintenance engineering team based on site at Eli Lilly in Concord, NC.
As an Electrical Engineer at Eli Lilly, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our manufacturing processes.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal quality standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop detailed electrical schematics, diagrams, and layouts for pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and facilities.
Conduct feasibility studies and assess the electrical requirements for new projects. Ensure that electrical designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and internal quality standards.
Continuously seek opportunities to optimize and improve existing electrical systems for enhanced efficiency and reliability.
Equipment Maintenance :
Develop and implement a proactive maintenance schedule for electrical systems and equipment. Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and address them promptly to prevent costly downtime.
Collaborate with maintenance teams to plan and execute scheduled maintenance activities, including equipment calibration and testing.
Key Responsibilities :
- Responsible for the Electrical Design and delivery as part of a multi discipline projects team.
- Generating detailed scope of work Tender packages.
- Coordination and supervision of Electrical contractor(s) during construction and commissioning activities.
- Coordinate contractor activities to monitor and track work ensuring delivery of the schedule and budget.
- The Specification and procurement of Electrical Equipment i.e. MV / LV Switchgear, transformers etc.
- Preparation of Electrical design Deliverables, including Lighting design, motive power, Power Distribution Single Line Diagrams, equipment specifications and data sheets Electrical Services layouts, schedules, load study’s etc.
- Project Management and control of Electrical Projects including management of external Engineering Consultants etc.
- Participate in Constructability and Safety reviews.
- Review project scope, budget and schedule
- Ability to manage workload of multiple projects of varying complexity
- Programming works schedule and monitoring building progress, compliance with regulations and costs.
- Managing MV / LV project works and sub contractors visiting site.
- Managing all risk assessments, method statements, and other related procedures and paperwork regarding PPMs and Health and Safety.
- Must be able to work off own initiative and recommend problem solving techniques or implementing solutions to resolve engineering, systems, contractor and vendor challenges that arise on the site.
Troubleshooting :
Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and resolve electrical issues quickly and efficiently. Work closely with the maintenance team to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and electrical failures.
Educational Requirements :
A BS degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred along with 5 plus years’
experience in Electrical Design / Construction environments.
Candidate must have proficiency in a windows based environment and software (Word, PowerPoint and excel.
Good communication skills essential.
Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, EPLAN).
Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
Proficient in English
Personal Considerations :
At times, the Electrical Engineer may need to travel offsite to other Lilly locations, other pharmaceutical companies, conferences, vendor sites (for Factory Acceptance Tests) or offsite training.
