Job Title : Field Service Technician

Job Summary of the Field Service Technician : We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician who can work independently and effectively interact with customers.
The ideal candidate should possess strong report writing skills and be able to provide valuable input to the Engineering team for improving products in the Product Development Group.
As a Field Service Technician, your responsibilities will include assembling, commissioning, inspecting, repairing, and troubleshooting systems both locally and globally.
Qualifications of the Field Service Technician :
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Field Service role with decision-making responsibility
- Certificate or degree in Electronics or Electrical required
- Willingness to travel extensively, up to 70% of the time, for both domestic and international assignments
- Proficiency in writing trip reports, return material authorizations, test reports, and corrective action reports
- Familiarity with PLCs preferred
- Ability to read and troubleshoot systems using electrical schematics
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- No fear of heights
- Strong experience working with PLCs, VFDs, data acquisition, wiring, power equipment, and industrial electricity. Knowledge of Siemens, ABB, and TMEiC platform(s) is highly desired.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport with the necessary documentation for international travel.
Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician :
- Regularly interact with customers, end-users, vendors, and contractors
- Assist in scheduling and coordinating the involvement of stakeholders for onsite equipment inspections and start-up activities
- Coordinate internally to ensure prompt response to customer inquiries
- Troubleshoot PLCs, VFDs, and other automated equipment both onsite and remotely
- Perform repairs on site at customer facilities, dealing with both warranty and non-warranty claims
- Conduct routine inspections of existing system installations
- Ensure the proper implementation of pre-commissioning activities in the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation disciplines and generate accurate reports
- Travel to customer sites to perform final commissioning and demonstrate equipment functions as per specifications to obtain customer acceptance
- Support the project team in clearing and signing off mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and automation punch list items as required by the project
- Participate in project and construction meetings as necessary
- Provide technical training to end-user operators and maintenance personnel
- Serve as an on-site trouble-shooter, analyzing and rectifying technical issues for customers
- Independently coordinate site visits and travel details with customers prior to departure
- Manage all travel arrangements including airfare, lodging, and ground transportation
- Offer direct technical support to customers, contractors, sales, and engineering during testing and field service activities
