Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee daily operations of pharmacists and pharmacy teams and act as the frontline resource for pharmacist questions and escalations.
- Monitor and support the training and development of pharmacy staff and assist in policy and procedure development for pharmacy operations.
- Communicate with prescribers to confirm dosing and administration for safe patient dispensing and Control medications by monitoring drug therapies and managing inventory.
- Identify and report adverse events and product complaints in compliance with regulations.
- Counsel patients on medication usage, potential adverse events, and strategies to minimize risks.
- Conduct outreach and follow-up with patients as mandated by regulatory agencies (e.g., REMS).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy laws and changes.
- Complete continuing education to maintain and renew professional licenses.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
- Ensure compliance with program guidelines and perform related duties as required.
- Shift Management : Efficiently manage team schedules and workflow assignments to meet client-specific processing requirements.
- Operational Assessment : Assess the need for overtime and approve scheduled time off, balancing operational demands with team well-being.
- Performance Management : Provide regular coaching and performance reviews, and implement performance improvement plans as needed.
- Quality Improvement : Actively participate in the enhancement of operational policies and patient services.
- Efficiency Analysis : Regularly review staff efficiency and quality of service to identify areas for improvement.
- Procedural Development : Assist in the creation and revision of pharmacy procedural documents to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
- Metric Compliance : Collaborate with the leadership team to meet program metrics and operational goals.
- Team Collaboration : Work cohesively with other Leads and Supervisors, fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion.
Minimum Experience Required :
- 4+ years of professional experience as a Pharmacist in a retail or specialty pharmacy setting.
- Experience / knowledge / skill in : Analyzing Information, Administering Medication, Demonstrated sound judgment and decision making.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge in FDA Health Regulations, Pharmacology, Managing Processes, Legal Compliance
- Focus on quality and attention to detail
Education / Qualifications / Certifications and Licenses :
- B.S. Pharm degree, Pharm.D. degree is preferred, and must possess a current and valid Pharmacist state license, in good standing.
- Must be proficient with basic computer programs and able to handle multiple requests at one time, as well as ensure that medication orders are reviewed and fulfilled in a timely manner.
- Capable of standing for up to 8 hours at a time and able to bend, sit, stand, and work in front of computer screen for long periods of time
- Capable of lifting up to 20lbs, if needed
