Salary Range : Placement on the adjunct faculty salary schedule is based upon education and credited experience. Pending any course assignment, initial placement can range as follows : Lab Course - $75.
48 up to $103.03 per hour. Lecture Course - $87.88 up to $118.85.

The Position :
The Colleges seek a part-time faculty member in Political Science. The ideal candidate will share the Colleges' commitment to educating a racially and socioeconomically diverse student population.
This position is a 'pool' position meaning that openings may or may not be currently available.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Teach classes as assigned from the regular Political Science Department curriculum.
- Consult with students during regularly scheduled office hours.
- Maintain expertise in current teaching and discipline technologies.
- Perform other duties as required by contract, collective bargaining agreement, and general institutional needs.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Possession of a Master's or above in political science, government, or international relations OR Bachelor's in any of the above AND Master's or above in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, any ethnic studies, JD or LL.B. OR the equivalent.
- Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Recent successful experience in teaching or preparation to teach college-level courses in Political Science.
- Understanding and commitment to the role and purpose of the community college.
- Acceptance of the division's commitment to established academic standards.
- Commitment to using writing as an evaluative assessment.
- Knowledge of the use of technology in teaching.
- Ability to develop instructional learning outcomes and to assess students' achievement of these outcomes.
