As a Security Officer with ProGuard Security Services, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall customer service and access control of an assigned client site.

You will represent the ProGuard Security Services brand consistently, demonstrating professionalism and exceptional customer service, while responding promptly and effectively to security needs throughout the day.

As the Security Officer, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the company you represent, partnering closely with its employees, contractors, outside agencies, and other Security Officers.

Your responsibilities may include the following for the client site assigned : writing reports, updating tracking spreadsheets, retrieving CCTV video footage, troubleshooting access control issues, and completing any additional tasks assigned by security management, supervisors, and shift leads.

Success in this role will come from your ability to observe and report any security issues effectively, providing excellent customer service to tenants, clients, and the general public.

As the first face many people see at an assigned client’s site, you must maintain integrity and professionalism in all that you do.

Conducts regular patrols Performs scheduled internal and external patrols to ensure site security and safety. Effectively executes security duties by adhering to established schedules, promptly identifying and addressing issues such as uneven surfaces or leaks, and taking corrective actions like deploying wet floor signs.

Proactively monitors and scans all barcodes and d-texts using a mobile device to confirm area clearance and updates the system accordingly.

Demonstrates attentiveness to detail and swift response to anomalies, ensuring comprehensive site security and efficient patrol operations.

Completes Daily Activity Reports (DAR) Documents comprehensive site activities including deliveries, interactions with individuals, and any unusual occurrences.

Accurately records details of daily security operations such as patrol times, floor sweeps, and incident reports to create a detailed log of activities for review.

Utilizes electronic reporting tools, such as the Track-Tik app or computer system, to ensure real-time updates and accuracy.

Ensures that all reports are submitted electronically for managerial review daily

Experience : 2+ years of experience working as a Security Officer, Field Supervisor, or related role providing site supervisory a plus, in Class A type buildings including high-rise buildings, biotechnology facilities, etc.

highly preferred California Guard Card required Must be at the minimum 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED required Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time between required breaks required Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime required Ability to pick up, carry, and move packages, objects, and / or equipment weighing up to 20lbs required 1+ years of experience an in-person role providing face-to-face customer service and direction to a diverse group of people (i.

e., restaurant manager, retail manager, etc.) highly preferred Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a related field of study a plus

Within the first 30 days :

Within the first couple of days, partners with and shadows an assigned trainer at the assigned client site to undergo initial training and learn site-specific security duties and protocols (i.

e., go over the client site, post orders, how to complete and submit daily activity reports, etc.).

  • Reviews post order binder at the assigned client site to learn all the different functions at the site and procedures that need to be followed, bringing questions to their assigned trainer and / or direct manager.
  • Communicates with their direct manager for guidance, reporting, and addressing any issues or questions.
  • Meets and establishes rapport with clients, tenants, the general public that frequent the client site, etc. getting to know their name and introducing oneself.
  • Completes and submits Daily Activity Reports (DAR) to document all site activities and incidents, utilizing Tracktik for real-time reporting and tracking of security tasks.
  • Shows up to one’s shift on time and in the complete uniform.
  • Logs all breaks and work periods accurately to ensure compliance with scheduling and labor regulations.

At the 30-day mark :

  • Conducts a self-assessment of performance by referring back to the Talent Profile and identifies areas for improvement, presenting to their direct manager.
  • Engages in feedback sessions with their direct manager to discuss performance and address any challenges.
  • Is fully independent in the role knowing the site duties expected and how to effectively do rounds. Brings question to direct manager as needed.

Within the next 3 months and ongoing :

Completes DAR’s accurately and with enough information for the direct manager to see a play-by-play ((i.e., patrol times, floor sweeps, incident reports, etc.

of the Security Officer’s day at the assigned client site.

  • Continues to wear the full uniform consistently, adhering to company standards and maintaining a professional appearance
  • Has a thorough understanding of all site-specific procedures, emergency protocols, and security measures.
  • Conducts rounds at assigned client site by scanning all barcodes and d-texts to ensure that the building is secure.
  • Knows how to navigate upset or frustrated individuals and, if necessary, assertively reiterates the request and, if the situation doesn't improve after two warnings, involves law enforcement while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Maintains and updates relationships with key personnel and regular visitors, fostering a sense of trust and community within the site.
  • Conducts a comprehensive review of site security protocols and procedures, ensuring full compliance and identifying any areas for improvement.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in handling various security situations and emergencies, applying learned procedures effectively and efficiently.
  • Participates in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with industry best practices and security technologies.
  • Completes daily / weekly / monthly (dependent upon assigned site) equipment checks and maintenance to ensure all security tools and systems are functioning properly.
  • Ensures that all shifts are adequately covered if taking time off or call in sick and that any changes in scheduling or coverage are communicated effectively to all relevant parties.
  • Assesses and refines personal performance and security practices based on feedback from their direct manager and observations from the field.

Within the next 6-12 months and ongoing :

Reviews post orders and their real-world application, identifying any discrepancies or areas for improvement (i.e., unaddressed areas, etc.

and raises concern to their direct manager to ensure that all relevant security areas are covered.

  • Takes a proactive approach to security by ensuring shifts run smoothly and that all areas are secure by continuously assessing and improving personal and site security measures to enhance overall effectiveness.
  • Evaluates the overall effectiveness of security measures, identifying any vulnerabilities, and recommend improvements to their direct manager to enhance site security.
  • Ensures guard card remains active and current by double-checking the expiration date.
  • Applies any agreed-upon changes to security protocols and closely monitors their effectiveness, adjusting as necessary.
  • Assists in the training of new officers to the assigned client site, sharing knowledge and best practices to ensure consistency and high performance.
  • Regularly reviews and practices emergency response procedures to ensure readiness and effectiveness in handling various scenarios.
  • Reviews and analyzes incident reports and DARs to identify trends or recurring issues, and suggests improvements or preventative measures.

By the 12-month mark :

  • Continues to perform security duties as second nature, demonstrating fluidity and confidence in applying procedures.
  • Has full command of the assigned client site’s security measures.
  • Attends an annual performance review with their direct manager to evaluate and enhance performance in alignment with managerial expectations and site requirements.
