Position Summary :
The Registered Nurse (RN) manages the episode of patient care in partnership with persons, care givers, groups and other providers to reach a shared goal of delivering safe, quality health care.
This patient care may be through direct care by the RN, or it may be through coordinating and supervising patient care delegated to, Nursing Assistants and other unlicensed assistive personnel.
Education / Experience :
Graduate of a school of nursing; Associate degree / Diploma in Nursing required.
Special Knowledge / Skills / Certifications / Licenses :
1. Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients
2. Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License
3. BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines
Additional Information :
Current RN licensure required. Intensive care / Cardiac Step-Down Telemetry experience recommended; Emergency Center experience preferred.
BSN, or currently enrolled in BSN program encouraged. Safe, patient-centered care is the highest priority in the Emergency department.
Candidate must provide compassionate care to the patients we serve. Candidate should enjoy fast paced work environment and possess excellent critical thinking, multitasking and prioritization skills. Must have BLS.
The Emergency Center is a 42-bed level III trauma center that serves all patient populations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, days a year.
The Emergency Center includes a triage area used to determine the severity of a patient’s medical condition; state-of-the-art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment;
leading-edge medications and techniques to stop heart attacks and strokes before they cause permanent damage; radio communication systems linking Methodist Hospital’s Emergency Center to helicopter and ambulance services across Minnesota.
The top two presenting chief complaints are abdominal pain and chest pain. Services are provided by board certified Emergency Physicians and specially trained nursing staff and technicians.
$10, Sign-on Bonus (paid out in two $5, pre-tax installments) eligible for candidates with at least 1+ years of hospital RN experience and provided if all payment conditions met as of the payment date(s) :
- 1 st installment : the first full pay period after completing orientation
- 2 nd installment : after approximately 1 year of employment
