Job Summary :

The Engineering Technician is responsible for providing technical support to the engineering team, assisting in the development, testing, and maintenance of company products.

This role involves hands-on work with prototypes, test equipment, and production systems, ensuring that all engineering tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.

The Engineering Technician plays a critical role in bridging the gap between engineering and manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical Support : Assist engineers in the design, development, and testing of products by performing technical tasks such as assembling prototypes, setting up test equipment, and conducting experiments.

Provide feedback and suggestions for improving designs and processes.

Testing and Data Collection : Conduct tests on prototypes and production units to evaluate performance, durability, and compliance with specifications.

Collect and analyze test data, document results, and report findings to the engineering team.

Prototype Assembly : Assemble and modify mechanical and electrical prototypes according to engineering specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during assembly to ensure that prototypes function as intended.

Equipment Maintenance : Maintain, calibrate, and repair test equipment and tools used in the engineering lab. Ensure that all equipment is in good working order and complies with safety standards.

Documentation : Assist in the creation and maintenance of engineering documentation, including test procedures, assembly instructions, and technical reports.

Ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.

Manufacturing Support : Collaborate with the manufacturing team to implement engineering changes and resolve production issues.

Provide technical assistance during product assembly and testing, ensuring that production runs smoothly.

Continuous Improvement : Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing product quality, reducing costs, and improving manufacturing efficiency.

Suggest and implement process improvements based on observations and experience.

Quality Assurance : Assist the Quality Assurance team in inspecting products for defects and ensuring that they meet all quality standards.

Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes as needed.

Job Requirements :

Education : Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical education and experience.

Experience : Minimum of two years of experience in a technical support role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

Skills :

  • Strong technical aptitude with experience in assembling, testing, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency with standard engineering tools and test equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
