Description
The General Superintendent is responsible for :
- Project Oversight : Manage and oversee all field operations on multiple construction sites to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
- Safety Management : Enforce safety policies and ensure all employees and subcontractors adhere to OSHA regulations and company safety protocols to minimize risk and prevent accidents.
- Subcontractor Coordination : Oversee and manage the work of subcontractors, ensuring quality control and adherence to project specifications and deadlines.
- Quality Control : Monitor all construction activities to ensure compliance with architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Communication : Serve as the primary point of contact between field operations, project managers, and clients, providing regular updates on project progress, challenges, and changes.
- Resource Management : Coordinate and manage resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, ensuring efficient utilization and minimizing downtime.
- Site Inspections : Conduct regular site walks and inspections to ensure work is being performed correctly and address any safety, quality, or productivity concerns.
- Document Management : Maintain accurate records, including daily reports, RFIs (Request for Information), change orders, and other project documentation.
- Budget Management : Work with project managers to monitor and control project costs, identifying areas where cost-saving measures can be implemented without sacrificing quality.
- Client Relations : Collaborate with clients to ensure their expectations are met and address any concerns that arise during the course of the project.
- Post-Project Review : Lead post-construction closeout activities, ensuring proper project documentation, punch list completion, and a smooth handover to the client.
Profile
The Ideal General Superintendent :
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Computer skills, Procore, Bluebeam, MS Projects, MS Office
- Experience scheduling construction projects
- OSHA 30 Certification Required
- 15+ years of experience in a Superintendent role
