At V2X, we are making a difference by delivering decision support tools critical for the protection of our forces when threatened by both physical and Chemical, Biological, Radiological, or Nuclear (CBRN) threats.

As a Software Tester contracted to support the Integrated Early Warning of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Sensors project for the Department of Defense (DoD), you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through meticulous testing and quality assurance processes.

You will work closely with our development team to identify and address issues, verify functionality, and ensure that our software meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

The applicant should have experience working with Software Developers through all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle.

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities :

  • Collaborate with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases to validate software functionality, performance, reliability, and usability.
  • Conduct various types of testing, including functional testing, regression testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, to identify defects and ensure that all software components work seamlessly together.
  • Use automated testing tools and frameworks to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Perform manual testing when necessary, ensuring thorough coverage and accurate identification of issues.
  • Document and report bugs and defects, including detailed steps to reproduce, severity, and impact, using issue tracking systems such as Jira or Azure Devops (ADO).
  • Work closely with the development team to triage, prioritize, and resolve reported issues in a timely manner.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying causes of defects and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and project reviews to provide status updates, discuss issues, and collaborate on solutions.
  • Help develop and institutionalize data / information quality and management standards, systems, and analytics.
  • Perform data quality assessments.
  • Help improve data and knowledge management tools, automation and applications; train staff in their use.

Material & Equipment Directly Used :

Computer, Phone, and basic office materials.

Working Environment :

  • Function in an office environment in a stationary position approximately 50 percent of the time or more.
  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine, and printer.
  • Must be able to travel to customer sites and test events.

Qualifications

Education / Certifications :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Clearance Requirement :

Must have an active . DoD Secret (or higher) level Security Clearance.

Experience / Skills :

  • Proven experience as a Software Tester or Quality Assurance Engineer, preferably in a software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Proficiency in automated testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, Appium, or similar.
  • Experience with scripting languages (., Python, JavaScript) for test automation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools (., Jira, Agile) is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
