We are seeking a CMT Inspector 1 to join our Boise, ID team! Come join us!

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to :

  • Performs testing of construction materials (soils, aggregates, concrete, structural steel welding and bolting, masonry components, spray-applied fireproofing) and related structural inspections commensurate with the levels described.
  • The position of Field Technician requires availability at the contractor’s convenience. This includes any and all hours and days necessary to fulfill the needs of the project’s construction schedule.

The position requires the ability to respond on short notice and at irregular hours, to work overtime, nights, weekends, or holidays, with occasional overnight trips for out-of-town projects.

Requirements

Minimum requirements :

High school graduate or education level commensurate with position requirements, with strong mechanical aptitude

Good general math skills; understanding of physical sciences

Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable; team oriented

Detail oriented with ability to multi-task

Work well with other employees and construction-related personnel

Technical reading and ability to physical observations into written reports

Ability to use, or learn to use, Nuclear Densometers, Air Meters, Core Drill and power tools.

Read and interpret Project Plans (drawings) and Specifications

Some knowledge and understanding of Uniform Building Codes

Possess physical dexterity to perform field tests, including lifting up to 100 pounds, repeated bending, twisting and turning, climbing (ladders, scaffolds and stairs), walking distances on irregular surfaces, and standing for considerable periods.

Ability to maintain safety consciousness at all times while working, driving, and on moving through construction sites and around heavy construction equipment and vehicles.

Ability to tolerate and work outdoors in extreme climatic conditions.

Ability to drive safely and main alertness in varying driving conditions, including poor road conditions, long distances, in heavy traffic, and among heavy construction equipment and vehicles.

Ability to work safely with hazardous materials including radioactive sources, dust, chemicals, concrete, and other industrial and construction pollution.
