Senior Financial Analyst, ETTS
Description / Summary
In this role, the Senior Financial Analyst will be primarily responsible for the overall financial management (balance sheet and income statement) of the Emissions, Thermal, and Turbo Systems (ETTS) Propulsion Technical Center (PTC) and secondarily responsible for assisting with consolidation, analysis, and reporting for the business unit, which includes 30+ plants and 10 technical centers globally.
The role will have exposure to all levels of management, including the ETTS Senior Leadership Team (President, Operational Managers, Functional VPs), Plant Controllers, and Corporate Finance Executives.
PTC : The person will have global oversight for all PTC engineering financial reporting, including coordination and consolidation of reporting by department and cost center for actuals, forecasts, and budget / Long Range Plan (LRP).
This individual will work closely with Senior Engineering Management, including the VP of Engineering, his direct reports, and the Director of Finance for Global Engineering on project reporting.
BU : The person will assist the BU Senior Financial Manager / Director of Finance with BU-level projects and analysis. Duties may include consolidation, accounting treatment, financial reporting, internal control / SOX compliance, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, audits, and tax.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide early warning on all business trends that affect the performance of the RU related to SA&O spend - including P&L, balance sheet, and operational issues, while identifying probable causes and solutions.
- Oversee, manage, and consolidate all financial reporting and accounting functions for the RU.
- Accountable for timely and accurate month-end closing, forecasting, quoting, working capital, and fixed asset management.
- Performs monthly financial closing, which includes the posting of journal entries in SAP and reconciliation of accounts.
- Prepare / submit monthly earnings call package for RU591.
- Prepare / submit quarterly balance sheet review package for RU591.
- Collaborate with engineering and sales to ensure collection of R&D reimbursements and Prototype income.
- Work closely with each ETTS RU to reconcile intercompany balances.
- Develop the PTC budget / LRP, with particular emphasis on SA&O and R&D functions.
- Participates in the PTC fixed assets control and inventory.
- Takes the initiative to take on challenging assignments and creates opportunity where none exists.
- Special Assignments Responsible for completion of special assignments as required. Examples include updating OneStream reports, creating ad-hoc reports upon request from various functional managers, etc.
- Willingness to travel domestically and / or internationally up to 10%.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
- 5+ years of professional experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Intermediate to advanced level using Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, sum-ifs, macros, etc.) to automate files
- Intermediate level using PowerPoint to translate data from Excel and create presentations
- Experience using SAP
- Experience using OneStream
- Flexibility to work early and extended hours as required to attend meetings and complete assignments specifically during month-end, quarter-end, year-end, and budget / LRP time
